How do I remove the flywheel from a 14hp riding mower?

There are these 2 wires that run directly underneath the flywheel that I need to get to because they have a short in them. I am wondering how to get the flywheel off. I took all of the screws off and everything on top. I tried to pry it off with a pry bar on the bottom and it wouldn't budge therefore I left it alone so that I wouldn't damage it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
