What should I do if my cockatiel won't sit on her first egg?

My bird that we have had for about 5 years layed her first egg. We know that when we rescued her she wasn't all that young, but she seems an okay age to know to sit on them. She hasn't even looked or budged to take care of it. What should we do? It has to get care ASAP!!! - Right?!
