Help me open my Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream?

Alright, this may sound stupid, but I cannot open the jar of my Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream. I have tried twisting and pulling, pulling, twisting, opening it with scissors. I've even had my friends try to open it but it won't budge. I called Olay and they said it should come off easily but it hasn't. They're sending me a new one, but I want to get this one open still! Any help?
