04 mitsubishi eclipse hood not opening?

yesterday my service engine light came (i already know whats wrong with it) on then i made it home and stopped to open the hood. the hood will not open and ive tried pulling the lever while having somebody push down and ive tried grabbing the wire with pliers. i cant take it to a dealership because the spark plug is melted so it is not drive able. anybody have any other ideas? thanks
