How to get a pulley on ?

I bought new light weight pulleys for my nissan 240sx sr20det: power steering, alternator, and water pump. I have only tried putting the power steering one on so far and it won't go on straight. I've tried a pulley installer from autozone that failed to put it on straight, heating the pulley and greasing the shaft and still won't go on straight, I would like to avoid paying a shop to do it for me. Anyone have any tricks of the trade to get the damn thing on straight?
